The greenhouse effect has consequences for everyone. Reducing it is a hot item on the political and social but also the business agenda. For both authorities as companies, the reduction of CO2 emission is a high priority issue. Important choices have to be made how to reduce CO2 emissions. Is the solution reducing the use of energy, or constructing climate neutral houses, application of a renewable energy option, or even off-setting of emissions? Obviously, you need to know what the current emissions are as well. What is the progress of CO2 reducing projects? Will you reach your goals?
Ecofys developed the CarBon™ software family to support authorities and companies alike. Not only in decision making and developing a (carbon) strategy but also in monitoring its progress in implementation. The software is web-based, and hence, user-friendly. That makes software particularly suitable for workshop and boardroom settings.
Software for companies
For companies we developed two modules:

Software for authorities
For authorities we developed:

Giving maximum support to the policy cycle within authorities has been our philosophy during the design stage. CarMan can be used to develop or adapt a strategy and select the appropriate abatement opportunities. CarMon is designed to monitor CO2 reduction projects and keep a careful watch on projects in the pipeline. The module CarBase contains the current CO2 emission levels and can be used to put the reduction realised into the right perspective. |
